Shoot for about ½” of rain or sprinkler water every 5 or so days. I know some growers provide more water, and others heavily mulch around their trees to lessen the need to water. But, so far, June has been hot and dry, so some supplemental water is needed. If you like to hold a hose to water, measure how long it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket, then double that time. 10 gallons of water per inch of trunk caliper applied around the tree to the drip line would provide a thorough drink.
